Our story

Making growing education accessible

Everyone deserves the chance to learn where their food comes from—and how to grow it.

Many young people have limited access to agricultural education and hands-on growing opportunities. Plant It Georgia was created to help close that gap.

As a youth-led initiative of Equity For All Inc., we connect young people and communities with practical, modern growing methods. In classrooms, community gardens, and our mobile farm classroom, learning comes to life.

Our mission

Equip young people with the knowledge, confidence, and hands-on experience to grow food and explore opportunities in agriculture and food systems.

Our programs

Hands-on lessons, workshops, and training

From classrooms to community spaces, we make agriculture hands-on, engaging, and closer to home.

The mobile farm classroom

Growing education in your community

We bring hands-on growing education to schools, community organizations, and neighborhoods. Our mobile farm classroom gives young people a practical way to connect science, technology, and the food on their plates.

What we teach

Different ways to grow food

You don’t need acres of land to learn how food grows. Discover five practical approaches we introduce to young people.

01

A garden that fits your space

Grow food in pots and containers using a suitable growing medium. A porch, patio, or other small space can become a place to practice planting and plant care.

Explore. Practice. Grow.

Vertical growing

How our growing towers work

Our vertical towers stack plants upward instead of spreading them across a garden bed. Follow the journey from a tiny seed to something you can harvest.

STEP 01 / 05

Start with a seed

Start seeds in a growing medium and care for them until they become healthy seedlings. It’s the first small step toward a bigger understanding of food.

The Plant It Georgia campaign

OUR FIVE-YEAR GOAL

50,000

young people. One growing future.

Help more young people learn to grow food.

Our goal is to train 50,000 young people under age 25 over the next five years—expanding access to hands-on growing education across Georgia.

Help grow the next generation
Under 25The next generation
Across GeorgiaSchools, neighborhoods & communities
2026Our campaign’s beginning

Our first 10-week mobile classroom cohort launched September 15, 2026.

50,000 is our target—not an achieved training total.

Why this matters

The next generation
needs a place to begin.

Early, practical growing experiences can help young people see their place in agriculture. The 2022 Census of Agriculture offers context for that opportunity.

59years

Average age of Georgia farm producers

7.5%

Approximately 5,031 of Georgia’s 67,082 producers were under 35

A note on the numbers: These figures describe farm producers, not everyone working in agriculture. The census’s under-35 group is broader than our campaign’s under-25 focus.
